Ice Conditions - Fishing Report

Lake Dillon is now frozen and we wanted to give you an update on the ice conditions and how it is currently fishing. Most of the inlets and bays are now ranging from 6-10 inches on the low side to 24 inches on the high side of ice. The kokanee salmon are now nearing the end of the spawn run in the Snake River Inlet but are still putting on quite the show for anglers. Rainbow trout and arctic char are making their way into the mix schooling into the inlets and bays during the daytime. Brown trout can be seen making their rounds as well usually early mornings and mid afternoons.

Always practice caution on fresh ice as we use the buddy system when exploring new areas to ice fish. Talking to other anglers is always a great way to understand what areas are safe and which ones are not ready to be ice fished. As always if you have any questions on conditions or the bite give us a call and we will happily help you out.

Here’s to another fantastic year of fishing folks and tight lines!!!
